Inner axle shaft replacement – front drive axle tools required ^ j6125-b slide hammer ^ j45104 axle remover adapter removal procedure 1. Raise the vehicle. 2. Drain the lubricant from the differential carrier assembly. 3. Remove the intermediate shaft bearing assembly. 4. Install the j45104 to the j6125-b. 5. Install the j45104 and the j6125-b into the threaded hole on the inner axle shaft. Important: do not nick or cut the inboard (oil pan) side differential carrier assembly oil seal. 6. Remove the inner axle shaft using the j6125-b (1) and the j45104 (2). Support the inner axle shaft as necessary to in order to pull the inner axle shaft from the differential carrier assembly and evenly through the oil pan. Installation procedure 1. Install the j45104 and the j6125-b to the inner axle shaft. 2. While supporting the j6125-b and the j45104 with the inner axle shaft, place the inner axle shaft into the inner axle shaft opening in the oil pan. Important: do not nick or cut the differential carrier assembly oil seal. 3. Using the j6125-b (1) and the j45104 (2), carefully guide the inner axle shaft through the oil pan and differential carrier assembly oil seal into

Differential case assembly – disassemble differential case assembly – disassemble tools required ^ j22888-d side bearing remover kit 1. Place the differential case in a vise. 2. Install the j22888-20a (2) and the j8107-2 (1) as shown. 3. Remove the differential side bearings using the j22888-20a and the j8107-2. Important: the ring gear bolts have a left-handed thread. 4. Remove the ring gear bolts. Notice: do not pry the ring gear from the differential case. Remove the ring gear from the differential case. Drive the ring gear off with a brass drift if necessary. 6. Remove the pinion shaft lock bolt. 7. Remove the pinion shaft. 8. Relocate and secure the left and right front wheel drive shafts to the frame. 17. Using mechanics wire or hook, support the front shock modules and steering knuckle. 18.
