Ford focus 2000-05 ignition lock cylinder removal & installation removal & installation 1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions section. 2. Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection. 3. Remove the instrument panel lower panel. 4. Detach the steering column upper shroud. 5. Remove the audio control switch, if equipped. 6. Remove the steering column lower shroud. 7. Insert and turn the ignition key to position I (accessory). 8. Using a thin bladed screwdriver, depress the detent and remove the lock cylinder. Fig. Removal of the ignition lock cylinder. To install: 1. Press the lock cylinder into place and remove the key. 2. Install the steering column lower shroud. 3. Install the audio control switch, if equipped. 4. Install the steering column upper shroud. 5. Install the lower instrument panel cover. 6. Reconnect the negative battery cable. 1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions section. 2. Removal 1. Remove the front door trim panel. 2. Position the watershield aside. 3. Remove the rear glass channel bolt and position the glass channel aside. 4. Disconnect the rods from the door latch. 1. Disconnect the lock cylinder rod. 2. Unclip the locking clip. 3. Disconnect the door lock rod. 5. Position the front door latch aside. 1. Remove and discard the screws. 2. Position the latch aside. 6. Disconnect the electrical connectors. 7. Remove the latch. 1. Disconnect the cable from the latch. Installation 1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. 1. If necessary, use multi-purpose grease spray f5az-19g209-aa or equivalent meeting ford specification esr-m1c159-a to lubricate the latches. Note: install the front door latch screw in the small opening first, followed by the large opening.

Removal 1. Remove the front door trim panel. 2. Remove the side impact energy absorption panel. 3. Remove the screw (if equipped). 4. Detach the door latch remote control. 1. Detach the handle from the door panel. 2. Detach the door latch remote control. 5. Peel back the watershield. Caution: do not touch the adhesive surface as re-bonding will be impaired. 7. Remove the exterior door handle access hole grommet from the door. 8. Loosen the screw. Note: the screw must be fully disengaged from the door lock cylinder bezel although it is not necessary to fully remove the screw. 9. Remove the door lock cylinder bezel. 10. Remove the exterior door handle. 1. Slide the exterior door handle to release. 2. Remove the exterior door handle and gaskets.

2000 odyssey – front door panel removal/installation special tools required trim pad remover, snap-on a177a, or equivalent, commercially available. 1. Remove the mirror mount cover, power mirror, manual mirror. Take care not to scratch the door panel. 2. Remove the inner handle (a). Take care not to scratch the door panel. -1 pry out the cap (b), and remove the screw. -2 pull the inner handle forward and out half-way. -3 disconnect the inner handle rod (c) and power door lock switch connector (d) (for some models). 3. Detach the clips and hooks (a), then remove the speaker grille (b). Remove the screws. 4. Remove the pull pocket panel (a). Take care not to scratch the door panel. -1 pry out the cap (b), and remove the screw. 5. Release the clips that hold the door panel (a) with a commercially available trim pad remover (b), then remove the door panel by pulling it upward. Disconnect the speaker connector (c). For ‘02-04 models: if equipped with a seat heater, disconnect the seat heater switch subharness connector (d). Remove the door panel with as little bending as possible to avoid creasing or breaking it. 6. Install the door panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: replace any damaged clips. Push the clips into place securely. Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the inner handle rod is connected properly. For ‘03-04 models: reset the power window control unit. Check the window and power door lock operations. For ‘02-04 models: if equipped with seat heaters, check for proper operation.

Removal and installation 1. Note: the door glass must be completely raised. Remove the front door trim panel. For additional information, refer to section 501-05. 2. Position the watershield aside. 3. If equipped, disconnect the lock cylinder rod. 4. Disconnect the exterior door handle actuating rod. 5. Remove the bolts and position the front door latch aside. • discard the bolts. 6. Disconnect the electrical connectors. 7. Release the interior door handle cable and remove the front door latch. 1 position the cable cover aside. 2 release the conduit and the interior door handle cable. To install, reverse the removal procedure. • transfer parts as necessary. • if necessary, use multi-purpose grease to lubricate the latch.
