Removal 1. Remove the radio. 2. Lower the steering wheel. 3. Remove the cluster finish panel bolts 4. Pull back and position the cluster finish panel out of the way. 5. Disconnect the cluster finish panel 6. Remove the cluster finish panel. 1 disconnect the headlight switch electrical connectors. 2 remove the cluster finish panel. 7. Pull out the instrument cluster. 1 remove the instrument cluster screws. 2 pull out the instrument cluster 8. If equipped, disconnect the transmission range indicator. 9. Remove the instrument cluster. 1 disconnect the electrical connectors. 2 remove the instrument cluster. Installation 1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

2003 3.2cl – headlight replacement 1. Remove the front bumper. 2. Disconnect the connectors (a) from the headlight (b). 3. Remove the five mounting bolts, then remove the corner upper beam (c) and headlight assembly. 4. Install in the reverse order of removal. 5. After replacement, adjust the headlights to local requirements. 2003 3.2cl – hid (high intensity discharge) unit replacement 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio and the navigation system, then write down the frequencies for the radio’s preset buttons. 2. Turn the combination light switch off. 3. Disconnect the battery negative cable, then disconnect the positive cable. 4. Remove the headlight assembly. 5. Remove the bulb socket from the hid bulb. 6. Remove the three mounting screws and the hid unit (a). 7. Install in the reverse order of removal. 8. After reconnecting the battery, enter the anti-theft code for the radio and the navigation system, then enter the customer’s radio station presets.

Removal & installation front turn signal and parking lights 1. Reach up under the fender and twist out the electrical socket from the rear of the housing. 2. Remove the housing-to-front fender extension screws and remove the housing (pull it rearward). 3. To install, reverse the removal procedures. 1980 and later see figures 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 1. Remove the headlight bezel mounting screws and the bezel. 2. Disconnect the twist lock socket from the lens housing. 3. Remove the parking light housing.

Removal caution: work must be started at least 90 seconds after the ignition switch is turned into the lock position and the negative (−) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery. The srs is equipped with a back−up power source. If work is started within 90 seconds from disconnecting the negative (−) ter- minal cable of the battery, the srs may be deployed. Hint: a bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart. (see page ss−2) 1. Remove steering wheel pad and steering wheel (see page sr−13) 2. Remove door scuff plate 3. Remove cowl side trim 4. Remove no. 1 switch hole base 5. Remove lower instrument panel finish pan- el remove the 3 screws and disconnect the connector. Using a screwdriver, pry out the lower finish panel. (a) (b) hint: tape the screwdriver tip before use. 6. Remove lower panel insert remove the 4 bolts and panel. 7. Remove column covers (see page sr−13) 8. Remove spiral cable (see page sr−13) 9. Remove wiper and washer switch and light control switch and headlight dimmer switch (see page sr−13) 10. Remove cluster finish panel using a screwdriver, pry out the finish panel. Hint: tape the screwdriver tip before use.
