2008 civic – rear door panel removal/installation special tools required  ktc trim tool set sojatp2014*  trim pad remover, snap-on a 177a or equivalent, commercially available *available through the honda tool and equipment program; call 888-424-6857 4-door note:  take care not to scratch the door or the related parts.  use the appropriate tool from the ktc trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.  when prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage. 1. Raise the glass fully. 2. Pry out on the rear area of the inner handle cap (a) to release the hooks (b, c) with the appropriate trim tool. 3. Remove the screw and detach the clip securing the inner handle (a). 4. Remove the power window switch panel (a). -1 pry up on the rear edge of the switch panel to detach the clip with the appropriate trim tool. Pull out along the edge of the panel to release the side hooks (b). -3 pull the switch panel rearward to release the front hook (c). Disconnect the power window switch connector (d). 5. Remove the screw. 6. Remove the door panel (a) with as little bending as possible to avoid creasing or breaking it. -1 start at the bottom edge of the door panel, detach the clips that are just above the marks (b) on the edge of the panel with a commercially available trim pad remover. Detach the remaining clips (c, d).

2006 civic hybrid – interior trim removal/installation – trunk area special tools required ktc trim tool set sojatp2014 *available through the honda tool and equipment program; call 888-424-6857 note:  put on gloves to protect your hands.  take care not to bend or scratch the panels.  use the appropriate tool from the ktc trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components. 1. Remove the trunk floor (a). 2. Remove the trunk lid weatherstrip near the trunk rear trim panel. 3. Detach the clips, and release the hooks (a) by pulling up the trunk rear trim panel (b), then remove it. 4. Detach the clips, then remove the trunk front trim panel (a) from the trunk compartment. 5. Detach the clips (a, b), then remove the trunk side trim panel (c). Release the wire harness (d) from the slit (e) in the trim panel. 6. If necessary, remove the trunk tool box (a). 7. Install the trim in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:  if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.  push the clips into place securely.

1996-2000 electrical fuses & circuit breakers – civic identification caution: when battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See computer relearn procedures article in general information before disconnecting battery. Under-dash fuse/relay box note: under-dash fuse/relay box is located under driver’s side of instrument panel. See fig. 1 or fig. 2 .

Repair procedure note: to replace the under-dash fuse/relay box (micu), you need these items: • replacement under-dash fuse/relay box (micu) • one programmed ignition key for the vehicle • hds with software version 2.002.006 or later • pcm code (the 4-digit code is available on the in. Go to service, and select vehicle information from the left column, then select immobilizer code inquiry.) 1. Replace the under-dash fuse/relay box (micu). Note: when you replace the under-dash fuse/ relay box (micu), you must use the hds to register the imoes unit with the immobilizer-keyless control unit. If this procedure is not done after the micu replacement, the engine will not start. • refer to section 22 of the appropriate 2006 civic service manual, or • online, enter keyword fuse box, and select under-dash fuse/relay box removal and installation from the list. 2. Connect the hds to the 16p data link connector 3. Insert the programmed ignition key into the ignition switch, and turn the ignition switch to on (ii). Turn on the hds. 4. At the screen prompts, enter the vin and the odometer reading, and then verify the date and time are correct in the hds. 5. From the system selection menu screen, select immobi. 6. From the immobilizer test mode menu screen, select replace mpcs/micu/imoes, and follow the screen prompts to register the imoes unit. 7. From the pcm-code screen, enter the pcm code, and then follow the screen prompts. When the process is complete, turn the ignition switch to the lock (0) position, and then turn off and disconnect the hds.

Diagnosis note: you must complete the diagnosis before attempting any cvt repairs. 1. Civic hybrid and insight only: make sure the ima battery level gauge shows at least three quarters charged. If you need to increase the ima charge, do this: • insight only: remove the eps (electronic power steering) fuse from the under-hood fuse/relay box. • start the engine, and run it at 3,500 rpm until the battery level gauge shows at least three quarters charged. • insight only: reinstall the eps fuse. 2. Connect the hds to the vehicle’s dlc, then turn the ignition switch to on (ii), and turn on the hds. 3. At the hds screen prompts, enter the vin (if prompted) and the odometer reading. 4. At the select mode screen, select honda systems. 5. At the system selection menu, select a/t. 6. From the mode menu, select snapshot. 7. Set these snapshot points: • trigger type: manual • recording time: 2 minutes • trigger point: -60 seconds 8. Find a flat stretch of road where you and an assistant can drive for 2 minutes at a steady vehicle speed.
