L put on gloves to protect your hand. 1. Open the sliding door as necessary. 2. Lower the glass fully. 3. Remove the power window switch panel (a). 1. Pry on the rear edge of the switch panel with a trim tool to release the rear clip. 1. Pull out along the edge of the panel to release the hooks (b). 1. Disconnect the power window switch connector (c). 4. Pull the retainer (a) off of the inner handle shaft (b) with a hook-shaped tool, and remove the inner handle (c). 5. Release the sliding door sash inner trim as necessary. 6. Detach the door panel clips with a commercially available trim pad remover (a).

Repair procedure vehicle preparation: (this is a two-person operation.) note: always disconnect the negative (–) battery terminal before adjusting the cables. 1. Remove all second and third row seats from the vehicle. 2. Remove the interior quarter trim panel (look for a screw hidden behind the rear lower a/c air inlet panel). (see figure 1.) 3. Remove the large black-colored a/c duct connecting the evaporator housing upward toward the air distribution duct work. 4. Manually open the power sliding door to the halfway open position. Track cover removal: 1. Remove the outer track cover (body-colored plastic cover located below the right rear quarter window). A. From inside the vehicle, use a small diameter 12-in. To 18-in. Long flatblade screwdriver to detach the 2 small rearmost retaining clips that attach the outside molding to the body sheet metal (see figure 2). B. Once the clips have been popped loose, remove the screw at the front edge of the outside molding, and slide the body-colored molding forward until the molding has cleared all attaching clips. C. Once the molding has been removed, detach the plastic clips from the body and reattach them to the body-colored molding. D. Set the molding aside for later installation. 2. Manually close the power sliding door all the way.

Removal and installation note: 1. Remove the exterior mirror mounting hole cover. 2. If equipped, remove the window regulator handle. Position the window regulator handle cover aside. Remove the window regulator handle screw and regulator handle. 3. If equipped, remove the window control switch plate. Disconnect the window control switch electrical connectors and if equipped, the memory set switch electrical connector. 4. If equipped, remove the front door trim panel reflector or the courtesy lamp lens. 5. Remove the screws. 6. Lift and remove the front door trim panel. 7. If equipped, twist the courtesy lamp connector one half turn and remove it from the front door trim panel. 8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Rear door trim panel removal all vehicles 1. Remove the door pull handle cover by inserting and twisting a suitable tool into the hole provided. 2. Remove the screws. 3. Remove the door latch release handle bezel. 1. Remove the cover and screw. 2. Lift the bezel to release. 3. Remove the bezel. Vehicles with power windows 4. Remove the door latch release handle bezel. Vehicles with manual windows 5. Remove window regulator handle. All vehicles 6. Remove the trim panel screws. 7. Remove the trim panel. 1. Rotate the trim panel upwards. 2. Remove the trim panel. Installation 1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Removal 1. Remove the front door trim panel. 2. Position the watershield aside. 3. Remove the rear glass channel bolt and position the glass channel aside. 4. Disconnect the rods from the door latch. 1. Disconnect the lock cylinder rod. 2. Unclip the locking clip. 3. Disconnect the door lock rod. 5. Position the front door latch aside. 1. Remove and discard the screws. 2. Position the latch aside. 6. Disconnect the electrical connectors. 7. Remove the latch. 1. Disconnect the cable from the latch. Installation 1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. 1. If necessary, use multi-purpose grease spray f5az-19g209-aa or equivalent meeting ford specification esr-m1c159-a to lubricate the latches. Note: install the front door latch screw in the small opening first, followed by the large opening.
