2001 3.2cl – navigation system diagnosis test start-up procedure 1. Turn the ignition switch on (ii), press ”ok” on the disclaimer screen, then press and hold the keys in this order: (1) menu key. (2) map/guide key, (3) cancel key, and keep them pressed simultaneously for 5 seconds. 2. After the display changes to the diagnosis menu screen, touch the item you want to check, and the check will start. To return to the previous screen, touch the ”return” switch on the diagnosis screen. system links. tire calibrate. monitor check. yaw rate. unit check. cyclic diag. in-line diag. System links during diagnosis, all of the communication lines connecting the components are shown in yellow. if the system is ok, all of the communication lines connecting the components will change to green, the screen will indicate ”ok”, and a tone will sound. if there is a problem in the system, the faulty communication line will change to red, the screen will indicate ”ng”, and a tone will sound. the indication on the screen will not change until the ignition switch is cycled. After repairing the system, turn the ignition switch off to reset the system, then return to the diagnosis menu screen, and run system links again. Tire calibrate the ”auto tuning” is factory-set to ”on”, and it should remain on. If you find it has been turned off, turn it back on.

Installation note: • always use honda all season antifreeze/coolant type 2. Using a non-honda coolant can result in corrosion, causing the cooling system to malfunction or fail. • to avoid burning out the element, do not operate the engine block heater before it is installed in the vehicle and before you add coolant. 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the audio system and the navigation system (if equipped). 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. 3. Allow the engine and all cooling system components to cool down. 4. Place a clean drain pan under the radiator drain plug, then remove the drain plug from the bottom of the radiator to drain the coolant. Remove the radiator cap to increase the flow. 5. Review the srs component locations for the appropriate model: – ‘03 model – ‘04-06 models also review the precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service. Note: – use the appropriate tool from the ktc trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components. – take care not to scratch the body or tear the seat covers. – put on gloves to protect your hands. 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio and the navigation system, and then write down the radio station and xm radio channel presets. 2. Slide the seat all the way forward to access the rear riser cover. 3. Driver’s seat: detach the clips, then remove the rear riser cover (a). 4. Passenger’s seat: detach the clips, then remove the rear riser cover (a). The 8-way power seat is shown, the manual seat is similar. 5. Remove the passenger’s seat belt lower anchor bracket. 6. Slide the seat to the rear, about halfway to access the front riser cover. If equipped with an 8-way power seat, fully raise the seat. 7. Driver’s seat: detach the clips, then remove the front riser cover (a). 8. Passenger’s seat: release the tabs (a), and detach the clips, then remove the front riser cover (b). 9. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before continuing. 10. Remove the bolts securing the front seat (a).

Repair procedure note: • make sure to attach the sublead and the main lead to the harness with wire ties or electrical tape, and use ept sealer where shown to prevent rattles, slapping, or other noises. • refer to the following image for the names and locations of the am/fm antenna leads: antenna connector sublead audio unit main lead am/fm antenna amplifier 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio system and navigation system (if equipped). 2. Disconnect the negative battery cable, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work. 3. Remove the audio unit. • refer to page 23-57 of the 2006–08 ridgeline service manual, or • online, enter keywords audio removal, then select audio unit removal/installation from the list. 4. Remove the glove box. • refer to page 20-85 of the service manual, or • online, enter keyword glove, then select glove box removal/installation from the list. 5. Remove the passenger’s dashboard side cover: • pull out the front door trim as needed. • pry up the lower edge of the passenger’s dashboard side cover at the notch to release the clip. • gently pull the cover out along the edge to release the clips. 2003 3.2cl – headlight replacement 1. Remove the front bumper. 2. Disconnect the connectors (a) from the headlight (b). 3. Remove the five mounting bolts, then remove the corner upper beam (c) and headlight assembly. 4. Install in the reverse order of removal. 5. After replacement, adjust the headlights to local requirements. 2003 3.2cl – hid (high intensity discharge) unit replacement 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio and the navigation system, then write down the frequencies for the radio’s preset buttons. 2. Turn the combination light switch off. 3. Disconnect the battery negative cable, then disconnect the positive cable. 4. Remove the headlight assembly. 5. Remove the bulb socket from the hid bulb. 6. Remove the three mounting screws and the hid unit (a). 7. Install in the reverse order of removal. 8. After reconnecting the battery, enter the anti-theft code for the radio and the navigation system, then enter the customer’s radio station presets.
